Dr. Kyes graduated from the University of Western Ontario with an Honors Bachelor of Science in 1997. She graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2004 and moved to the United States for her small animal internship and Emergency and Critical Care residency from 2004 to 2009. Dr. Kyes obtained board certification with the ACVECC in 2009.

Dr. Kyes joined the Mississauga Oakville Veterinary Emergency Hospital and Referral Group in 2009 returning to her home town of Oakville.
